Integrated Mission Systems
Military Aircraft
ATK provides the Integrated
Sensor and Display System for RC-26B aircraft used by Air National Guard
units to support maritime, border protection, high-priority surveillance,
and counter-drug missions throughout the U.S. The system’s moving
map displays visual representation of aircraft location, sensor target
location, and field of view, and provides the operator full control of
the sensors.
Used on board Air National Guard C-130 aircraft, ATK Mission Systems’ Scathe
View system is both a situational awareness tool and an intelligence collection
sensor. It provides mission specialists with powerful real-time imagery of
events on the ground both day and night via electro-optical and infrared sensors.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, ATK technicians worked around the clock
to install Scathe View systems on numerous aircraft so they could assist with
search and rescue missions in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast region.
Department of Homeland Security Aircraft
ATK is under contract to modify
two types of commercial aircraft into Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and
Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) for use by the Department of Homeland
Security in airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
The platform for the MPA is the DHC-8 Q202, twin turboprop aircraft manufactured
by Bombardier Aerospace in Toronto, Canada. ATK Mission Systems is integrating
commercial radar and sensor systems with its Integrated Sensor and Display
System to enable the MPA to accomplish its primary mission: maritime surveillance
and law enforcement in customs and border protection operational areas.
The platform for the MEA is the Pilatus PC-12/45 single-engine, turboprop
aircraft manufactured in Switzerland. ATK Mission Systems is installing the
Integrated Sensor and Display Systems to modify it into the MEA, which is
being used to conduct surveillance of the U.S. border with Canada.
