Lake City Remediation Efforts Getting National Attention
On July 16, 2009, 34 visitors from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) from around the country stopped by Lake City to tour our remediation activities. The EPA visitors were attending a Conference held at the EPA Region VII Headquarters in Kansas City, Kansas. The visitors (group picture) toured the Phytoremediation area where trees were planted to lower the groundwater table and provide treatment of chlorinated solvents. In addition, the EPA visitors toured the Solar Sipper works in area 18.
