M114 TOW Rocket Launch Motor
ATK is the sole manufacturer of the M114 launch motor used in the Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missile systems. There are currently four different versions of the TOW Missile: TOW 2A, TOW 2B, TOW 2B Aero, and TOW Bunker Buster.
The M114 launch motor utilizes a solvent-based, double-base M7 propellant formulation that offers an extremely quick action time with low flash and low exhaust. To ensure user safety, the launch motor burn cycle is complete prior to the missile exiting the launch tube, expelling the missile to a safe distance from the gunner prior to flight motor ignition.
MK90 Propellant Grains for GATR and Hydra-70 rockets
ATK is the sole manufacturer of the MK90 propellant grain used in both the GATR (guided) and Hydra-70 (unguided) 70mm rockets. The GATR and Hydra family of rockets utilizes an assortment of warheads that offer the warfighter multi-mission capability.
The MK90 grain is configured using solventless, double-base NOSIH AA-2 propellant. This minimum smoke, Class 1.3C propellant yields a low-plume signature which is ideal for battlefield concealment. The unique extrusion manufacturing process ensures reliability and uniformity at a lower cost than traditional cast/cure propellant grains.
