On November 2 (2003), volunteers from ATK Aerospace and other northern Utah organizations came together to host their third Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference. Around 400 young women attended EYH's various workshops relating to math and science, had lunch, and were treated to a first-rate keynote speaker.
This year's speaker, Beth Gurrister, chair of the Box Elder Tourism Board, spoke to the young women about making good choices, and staying in school.
Jean Vaniman, manager, Quality Assurance at ATK Thiokol Propulsion, and this year's conference chair, said "It's exciting to see the level of interest these girls have in math and science careers."
