The EYH conference provides opportunities for young women to meet and learn from women working in science- and math-related fields. The event features an opening session, three hands-on workshops, lunch and a keynote presentation.
The conference is based on the assumption that intervention strategies are needed to increase the participation of girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by nurturing enjoyment and confidence in those subjects, by connecting their value to career opportunities, by providing career role models, and by actively encouraging girls to persevere in STEM coursework. This year's Salt Lake conference is open to young women in grades 6 to 9.
